Night waking is one of the most common experiences during perimenopause. Hormonal fluctuations can make the nervous system more alert.

Many women find themselves waking between 2:00 and 4:00 am; often with racing thoughts. This does not mean anything is wrong; it is part of the normal set of symptoms associated with estrogen and progesterone loss. It can be very frustrating.

Brain fog is a reality for many women going through perimenopause, and the lack of sleep just adds to it.
