off - leash
I keep my dogs on leash out of respect for other walkers/hikers and their dogs. BUT… there is one situation where I take my dog off his leash. When we are going to be heading down a very steep part of the trail, and when we are going to be heading up a very steep part of the trail. If I were to keep him on leash going down hill, he would pull me so fast and out of control that I would fall. If I keep him on leash going up hill, he will pull me up but it will be hard for him and unfair.
These things make me think about what I have myself tethered to that will pull me down and what do I allow to pull me up. Being pulled downward can lead to injury of body, mind, and/or spirit.
What is our “leash” attached to? Is it attitude, a situation, mindset, thoughts, feelings, relationships, things?
